| In the past 12 months more channels than ever before have been launched, and the Digital tv age has truly hit Britain (however cliched that may sound). But the question that has always been on everybody's lips is 'is there enough good, quality television to fill the channels schedules?' And the answer is slowly/finally changing from no to yes. But obviously not every channel is worth viewing, so to help you save time and avoid paying for channels you'll never watch, we here at gc(uk) have put together this tv channel guide to let you know what each channel provides. Because there are now so many channels available, this guide is split over two pages. On this page are channels from A to L, and you can click here for channels from M to Z. ADVENTURE ONE When? 24/7 What Does It Show? American documentary’s about exciting things. Like the weather. And wild animals. Any Good? I’m never really convinced by these aged docu repeat channels. Whilst the educational content is higher than, say, Granada Men and Motors, it feels just as cheap, and I’ve always the feeling when watching them that an entire hour’s worth of material could easily be cut down to a five minute short. ANIMAL PLANET When Does It Broadcast? 6am – 12am What Does It Show? Documentaries, about, well, Animals, such as Croc Files, Emergency Vets and Judge Wapner’s Animal Court. No, really. Is It Any Good? Well, it depends on how much you like animals I guess. It can be fairly entertaining at times, but there’s not one programme on the channel I’d ever make an effort to catch. One of those channels worth skipping to (briefly) if you’re very, very bored. Link: http://animal.discovery.com/ ARTSWORLD When? 2pm - Midnight What Does It Show? Documentaries, concerts and the odd film. Any Good? Sometimes. Too much of it’s airtime is filled with US documentaries, but they show some intriguing material sometimes, and the concerts will be of interest to a fair few too. Oddly enough, though, the website’s better than the channel itself. Link: http://www.artsworld.com/ BBC 1 When Does It Broadcast? Supposedly 24 hours a day, but infact generally only from 06:00 – 01:00am – the rest of the time is filled by BBC News 24. What does it show? Soaps, comedies, quiz’s, drama’s, films, documentaries, sport, news. So pretty much a selection from most genre’s then? Yup. Any Good? Now there’s a question, which really needs to be examined in a little detail. Undoubtedly the historical factor must come in to it, as over the last sixty or so years the channel has produced some of the finest television yet shown (The Singing Detective, Fawlty Towers, Doctor Who, um, Match of the Day?), co-financed Oscar winning films and their news service is respected throughout the world. But in the last decade the quality has slipped incredibly, with the cult of the celebrity now ruling the channel. Thus it’s all about buying in the big names, or at least who they think are worthy of our televisual time, (and whoever keeps on re-hiring Jim Davidson, Dale Winton, Jonathan Ross, Phil Jupitus, Julian Clary should be dismembered), coming up with the big concepts, and, of course, producing endless variations on previously established formats. So rather than making exciting new drama or cutting edge satire, expect to see the latest Big Brother, Weakest Link or Have I Got News For You clone on the channel, the latest soap star making their sitcom debut or, even worse, just another series of the remorselessly depressing Casualty. I suppose things could be far worse of course, and it is at the least better than ITV, but due to the fact that we have no choice but in paying for it (for a related article on this, click here), it should be far better and far more diverse than it is. Link: http://www.bbc.co.uk BBC 2 When Does It Broadcast? 24 hours a day. What Does It Show? Like it’s sister channel, a selection from most tv genre’s. It’s selection of film’s is usually better than most. Any Good? Yes. Definitely. Well, sometimes at least. It’s been responsible for breaking a ridiculous amount of talent in to tv, airing the more decent US fare (if somewhat erratically), and broadcasting some truly groundbreaking drama. Well, at least until five years ago when after This Life and The Fast Show they must have thought, well, we’ve done it, produced programmes that everyone loved and which were also critically respected and now we can just sit back and kick back. Since then the channel’s fare has been patchy, but it can surprise from time to time (as it did recently with the superb ‘Happiness’) and documentary and news wise it’s still superb. Link: http://www.bbc.co.uk/ BBC CHOICE When Does It Broadcast? 6am – 3am What Does It Show? A mixture of repeats from BBC1 and 2, such as Eastenders and Film 2000, as well as some new original, but cheap-ish shows. Is It Any Good? Yeah, especially when compared to some of the other digital channels currently available. It actually produces much of it's own material, like the excellent entertainment news programme 'Liquid News' and a smattering of original comedy (which'll inevitably turn up late night on BBC2 later on) like Attention Scum and The Dave Gorman Collection. One of the few digital channels I'd miss if I was unable to receive it. Link: http://www.bbc.co.uk/choice/ BBC KNOWLEDGE When Does It Broadcast? 8am – 2am What Does It Show? Documentaries and Educational programmes. Is It Any Good? No. It repeats itself far too often, often showing the same shows three or four times a day, and is really rather dull. The odd gem turns up on the channel from time to time, but it’s a rather rare occasion. Link: http://www.bbc.co.uk/knowledge/ BBC NEWS 24 When? The clue's in the name. What? Sky news is the British equivalent to CNN and BBC News 24 is the Public service equivalent to Sky News. Some current affairs programming interspersed with regular re-readings of the days headlines. You hate it, right? Actually, BBC News 24 is alright. There are no adverts so its scores heavily over Murdoch's News channel in that department. Best thought of as Radio 5 Live without the sport, and dipped into on those long evenings when NEWSNIGHT on BBC2 just isn't enough. Link: http://news.bbc.co.uk/ BBC PARLIAMENT When? 10:00-20:00 What Does It Show? The House of Lords. Live. Any Good? Yes. And yes, yes, yes again. Whilst you may not believe it, watching ‘democracy’ live on tv is hilarious/horrifying viewing depending on your standpoint. All the proof you need that politics is one enormous farce much of the time, and the best warning you’ll ever need that if a friend expresses an interest in joining a party, all contact should be severed. BID-UP TV When? 12pm – Midnight What Does It Show? Well, it’s another shopping channel, but this time with the added twist that you can outbid other viewers if you’re desperate to get your hands on the product. Any Good? Well it’s certainly an innovative idea, and some of the products that they sell are worth purchasing, but, at the end of the day, it’s just another shopping channel, and thus only of interest if you’re too lazy to wonder down to the local shops or use the internet to buy stuff. Still, the production values are quite high for this sort of thing, and the presenters are far better than those seen on QVC or Shop! Link: http://www.bid-up.tv/index.asp BIOGRAPHY When? 6am - Midnight What Does It Show? Hardcore pornography. Ahem, sorry, but it’s all a bit obvious isn’t it. Basically the channel consists of mainly American made documentaries about the lives of allegedly famous people. Any Good? Well, occasionally, but sometimes you have to ask yourself whether or not you really want to spend an hour of your life learning about Akhenaten: Egypt’s Heretic King or The Carpenters. And if you do, seek help immediately. Link: http://www.biography.com/ BLOOMBERG When? 24 hours a day What Does It Show? 24 hour financial news. Any Good? Fine. Another American financial news channel, it does what it’s supposed to do pretty well. If you ever find yourself in need of the latest share news etc, its probably the best place to visit. Link:http://www.bloomberg.com/tv/index.html?topnav=front BOOMERANG When? 24 hours a day. What Does It Show? Cool cartoons from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s like Scooby Doo and Top cat etc, etc. Any Good? A sister channel to the equally cartoon packed ‘The Cartoon Network’, it appeals as it shows all the best programmes from when I was a youngster. How those older and younger find it is another matter, but it’s fine viewing most of the time, especially when feeling nostalgic. Link: http://www.cartoonnetwork.com/boomerang/ BRAVO When? 12pm – 6am on Digital, 8pm – 6am on Satellite or Cable. What does it show? A mixture of cheesy ‘cult’ tv shows, soft porn and the occasional decent movie, plus a televised version of Howard Stern’s radio show. Sounds Dodgy? And it is. Oh yes. Howard Stern can amuse from time to time, but is hardly essential viewing. It shows the occasional good movie, e.g. Pulp Fiction, Raging Bull, but the schedule is saturated with crap such as The Fall Guy, Joe 90, Baywatch, and a fair sprinkling of tedious soft porn. Link: http://www.bravo.co.uk/ BREEZE When Does It Broadcast? 06:00 – 09:00 What Does It Show? A mixture of mostly American chat, DIY, and cookery programmes, with a few dodgy docu’s too. Any Good? No, no, no, no, no, etc. When the best programme on a channel is ‘Psychic Livetime’ you know you’re in trouble. Only the senile and terminally deluded will enjoy this channel. Link: http://www.gbreeze.co.uk/ CARTOON NETWORK When? 24 hours a day (Digital) 5am – 9pm (Satellite) What Does It Show? Um, Cartoons, at a guess. Worth Watching? Embarrassingly yes. They show a mixture of classic cartoons, such as Scooby Doo, The Flintstones and Top Cat, as well as new shows, the best of which is the superbly subversive ‘Cow and Chicken’ - which is must see tv. Just don’t admit to watching this channel, or people presume you have a mental age of 3. Link: http://www.cartoon-network.co.uk/ CHALLENGE TV When? 24 hours (on Digital) 5pm – 6am (on Satellite) What Does It Show? Dated gameshows, such as 3-2-1, Sale of the Century and The Krypton Factor. Worth watching? Only if you’re feeling nostalgic. Most of the shows have dated really badly, and are only worth watching if you want to relive your childhood. You know a channel’s not really worth watching when the highlight of their schedule is ‘Family Fortunes’. However, Challenge TV is occasionally unintentionally hilarious – watch ‘Karaoke Challenge’ if you’re ever feeling down. Link: http://www.challengetv.co.uk/ CHANNEL FIVE When? 24 hours a day. What Does It Broadcast? A mixture of most types of show, though cheaply. Any Good? Ha. Right. The joke of the tv industry since it gaudily launched, this has only become increasingly infamous since as a source of cheap porn and tacky US sitcoms, though the channel is trying to change it’s image more these days with various Big Brother style reality game shows and by stealing Home and Away from ITV. The only good thing they’ve ever done is give Jeery Sadowtiz a couple of show’s, but he’s been sadly absent from their schedules for a long while now. Link: http://www.channel5.co.uk/ CHANNEL FOUR When? 24 hours a day. What Does It Broadcast? A mixture of most things, just like the other terrestrial channels. Any Good? It’s our view at GC(uk) that it’s the best channel currently broadcasting, and has been since it began. Generally unafraid to tackle taboo subjects in it’s comedy’s and drama’s, there are just so many classic show’s that the channel has produced that it outshines it’s competitor’s easily. Brasseye, Queer as Folk, Father Ted, Jam, Kid in the Corner, The Comic Strip Presents, Spaced, Cracker, is only the beginning of a list which contains most of the best tv the Uk’s produced. Film Four has been responsible for producing some of the best new films around, and is at least partially responsible for the regeneration of the brit film industry. News and sports wise they also excel, and whilst occasionally they slip up, their mistakes are often much more interesting than anything else on tv. But what about Countdown? But students and old people love it, and the channel does try to appeal to as diverse an audience as possible. But at the end of the day they still employ Richard Whitely, don’t they? Alright, alright, nothing’s ever perfect I guess. Link: http://www.channel4.com/ CHANNEL HEALTH When Does It Broadcast? 09:00 – 23:00 What Does It Show? Programmes about healthier living. One for the hypochondriacs then? Yep, that’s about the size of it – or it might be of some help if your Doctor refuses to see you these days. Link: http://www.channelhealth.net/ CHELSEA TV When? 7pm - What Does It Show? Programmes about Chelsea football team and the odd occasional football match. Any Good? I’m afraid we cant say. No one here at gc(uk) is a Chelsea supporter, and thus we’ve been unwilling to fork out the subscription fee to review a channel we’ll never watch. Sorry. Link: http://www.chelseafc.co.uk/chelsea/frontpage.shtml COMMUNITY CHANNEL When? 10.30am – 7.30pm What Does It Show? Appeals for charity donations. I’m Sorry? Yep, you read correctly. This is the first channel devoted to persuading you to part with your hard earned cash so that some undoubtedly good cause will benefit. So Is It Any Good? Well, it’s hardly the most exciting tv channel ever, but you can’t really criticise it, as it is, as they say, for a good cause. Worth viewing if you’re feeling generous. Link: www.communitychannel.org CNN When? 24 hours a day. What Does It Show? News. But then you knew that as CNN is the most famous news channel in the world appearing in far too many tv shows/movies etc. Any Good? Yes. Exceptionally good most of the time, and the web site is absolutely huge too. Link: http://www.cnn.com/index.html CNBC When? 24 hours a day. What Does It Show? 24 hour financial news. Any Good? Like the Bloomberg channel, it does what it claims to do well. But obviously only of interest to a minority audience. Link: http://www.cnbceurope.com/cnbc.htm THE DATING CHANNEL When Does It Broadcast? 19:00 – 07:00 What Does It Show? Short two to three minute video’s of people begging other people to date them. If you wish to contact any of the people on the channel, calls cost one pound per minute. It’s Appalling, right? Oh yes, this is perhaps the tackiest, cheapest and generally content-less Digital Channel available – though it is free! But like with so many channels, this is hilarious post pub viewing (and even without the aid of alcohol pretty damn funny), and worth flicking too for this reason alone. Link: http://213.52.133.2/index.asp D-CLASSICS TV When? 6pm – Midnight. What Does It Show? A mixture of opera, dance, concerts and theatre. Any Good? I suspect so, but as it’s a pay channel, and I have a strange aversion to opera and ballet, I haven’t actually seen any of it. DISCOVERY KIDS When? 6am – 6pm What Does It Show? Old kids shows and patronising nature documentaries. Any Good? Not really. The majority of what they show is pretty boring and I can’t see it appealing to today’s pokemon obsessed kids. One for nostalgia freaks only. Link: http://kids.discovery.com/ DISCOVERY HOME & LEISURE When Does It Broadcast?24 hours a day. What Does It Show? Documentaries. Is It Any Good? From time to time. Some of the programmes are pretty old, and some are simply dull (Rex Hunt Fishing Adventures springs to mind), but there are some decent shows are shown on this channel. Link: http://www.discoveryeurope.com/ DISCOVERY SCI-TREK / HEALTH / TRAVEL & ADVENTURE / CIVILISATION / WINGS When? All broadcast between 8am and 2am, bar Wings, which begins at 6pm. What Does They Show? Discovery Home and Leisure’s sister channels, they show similar, cheap and dated documentaries. Any Good? Not really, most of the programmes on the show are exploitative American docu’s, or very dull educational shows. Hence why we can’t be bothered to review each channel individually. Link: http://www.discoveryeurope.com/ DISNEY When? 6am – midnight. What does it show? A mixture of cartoons and live action kiddie sitcoms, with the occasional movie too. Most of the shows, but not all, are made by Disney, and are thus high on the sweetness/cringe level. Any Good? Well, under 10’s will probably love it, but it’s nowhere near as good as the cartoon channel if you ask me, which is home to a variety of shows which I find bizarre and often disturbingly funny (Cow and Chicken especially). Link: http://disney.co.uk/disneychannel/ E4 When? 4am – 4pm. What does it show? First runs of hit American shows such as Ally McBeal, E.R. and Friends, as well as new British productions including The Adam and Joe Show, Trigger Happy Tv, Banzai and Show Me The Funny. Any Good? Yes. Whilst it’s not the saviour of digital tv that many claimed it to be when it first launched, it’s still damn good. Like most digital channels, it repeats itself far too much, with pretty much nothing new on post midnight, but at least the majority of what it does show is well worth watching. It’s also worth noting that Sky One has become far, far worse since the launch of the channel. Link: http://www.e4.com EURO NEWS When? 24 hours a day. What does it show? The news. Any Good? Yes, intelligent and less sensationalist than most commercial news stations, and one of the main channels I viewed on September 11th. Which is an, unfortunate, sign of how competent this channel is. Link: http://www.euronews.net/create_html.php EXTREME When Does It Broadcast? 10:00 – 02:00 What Does It Show? Extreme sports. Any Good? Well, if you’re thing is watching people throw themselves off of cliffs, buildings or do crazy skateboarding stunts, then you’ll never watch another channel again. But most will all find it a bit dull after about two minutes. FASHION TV When? 24 hours a day. What Does It Show? Young ladies wearing the latest hip fashions. Any Good? It’s a perfect example of pointless tv. Do you really want to spend your hard earned spare time watching supposedly pretty ladies walk up and down a catwalk? Well, if you’re 13, then obviously the answer is yes, but for the rest of us this is a terribly dull channel. Link: http://www.ftv.com/ FILMFOUR When does it broadcast? 18:00 to 06:00, 7 days a week. What does it show? Channel 4 films productions plus a selection of stuff from the rest of the world and a lot of short films as schedule fillers. Recent highlights: VELVET GOLDMINE, DEAD MAN, THE CRAFT, BLOOD SIMPLE, NIGHT OF THE HUNTER. Is it any good? Yes, up to a point. FilmFour doesn't have that much product so it spreads itself pretty thin, and there's the perennial problem with satellite movie channels - anything really good you've already seen. I must admit that I don't watch FilmFour that much. My service provider, Cable and Wireless seem incapable of getting decent reception and also most of the movies shown are pan and scanned, which I hate. For all that, this is still the classiest Movie channel currently available. Link: http://www.filmfour.com FILM FOUR EXTREME When? 22:00 – 04:00 What Does It show? The more violent, sexually excessive and generally harsher side of independent cinema. Any Good? Well, yeah. Like it’s main sister channel, it show’s some of the best independent cinema from around the world. Link: http://filmfour.com FILM FOUR WORLD When? 16:00 – 22:00 What Does It Show? Foreign cinema. Any Good? Yes. Just like the other two film four channels, the quality is the consistently highest you’ll get from any movie channel. Link: http://filmfour.com FOX KIDS When Does It Broadcast? 6am – 10pm Digital, 6am – 7am Cable and Satellite. What Does It Show? American kids shows and cartoons such as The Mask, Power Rangers and Goosebumps. Is It Any Good? Well, yeah, most of the time. It’s y’know, for kids, but the channel shows some decent cartoons, and is, all in all, rather entertaining. Plus it’s currently showing Ulysses 31, which I have fond memories of from childhood. Link: http://www.foxkids.co.uk/ GAME NETWORK When? 24 hours a day. What Does It Show? Computer game news and reviews. Any Good? Oh no, this is perhaps one of the worst free channels available. A mixture of poorly shot (and low budgeted) studio based chat re: console games and video game footage backed by dance music. All of the presenters fall in to the ‘amateurish but pretty’ category, though what they have to say about the games is often tedious and shockingly ill informed. Not all of it is even in English, so don’t be surprised if you tune in and cant understand a word. Link: http://www.game-network.net/eng/index.htm GO BARKING MAD When? Whenever Dogs are a racing, this channel shows them (so mostly from midday to midnight) What Does It Show? Dogs. Racing. Any Good? Sigh. It’s a channel which is aimed at a certain audience, so for those who love watching greyhounds chase after a fake rabbit, it’s probably tv heaven. For the rest of us, it’s not. Still, generally well put together, and serves a purpose I suppose. Do you have any amusing anecdotes about dog racing? Well, yes, its funny you should ask. My Uncle owned a greyhound when I was a young child, but unfortunately one night when it was racing, the mechanical rabbit malfunctioned and only ran at half speed, allowing my Uncle’s dog to catch up with it, attack it, resulting in taking the dogs head clean off. That wasn’t funny. That was sick: Sorry. But it was funny at the time. GOD CHANNEL When? 06:00 - 02:00 What Does It Show? A mixture of chat shows, Christian pop music and prayer shows. Any Good? Well, if you’re religious you might find it interesting, but personally I find it pretty awful. It all seems very cheaply made, full of self promotion and is reasonably patronising too. Plus it tries to be cool and hip, with MTV style channel idents, but comes across as just poor. However, it is one of those channels you’ll find yourself watching post pub on a Friday night if nothing else is on, due to the fact that it is often unintentionally hilarious. The chat show In Depth makes particularly amusing viewing. I would never pay for a channel like this, but whilst its still free its worth checking out for comedy value alone from time to time. Link: http://www.godnetwork.com GRANADA PLUS When Does It Broadcast? 6am-2am Digital, 6am-11am Cable and Satellite. What Does It Show? The worst shows ITV and the Beeb have ever produced, including Emmerdale, Sorry and The Comedians. Is It Any Good? No. When Starsky and Hutch is the best programme shown on a channel, you know you're in trouble. Repeats itself far too often, and is just very poor, basically. Link: http://www.gplus.co.uk/ GRANADA MEN AND MOTORS When Does It Broadcast? 9pm – 4am What Does It Show? A mixture of programmes about cars and breasts. Is It Any Good? No. No, no, no, no. It’s dull, cheap tacky tv at it’s very worst. The last two hours of the night are devoted to showcasing up and coming musical talent of a pub band variety, and is at the very least a good example of how to make very, very cheap tv, but bar that there's just no reason for this channel to exist. Link: http://www.gmenmotors.co.uk/ HALLMARK When Does It Broadcast? 24 hours a day. What Does It Show? American mini-series, films and cartoons. Is It Any Good? Only very occasionally, unless your idea of fun tv includes ‘Titanic’ with Catherine Zeta Jones, or the Patrick Dempsey vs. of Crime and Punishment. Link: http://www.hallmarknetwork.com/perl/hallzone.pl?Country=England THE HISTORY CHANNEL When? 12:00 - 20:00 daily. What? Channel dedicated to Historical documentaries, particularly concentrating on the 20th century, no doubt due to the helpful availability of free news archive footage. Highly populist, so don't expect anything too intellectually taxing. BIOGRAHY strand profiles the fmaous and infamous, eclectically including Micheal Caine and Mata Hari. Any good? Watchable, if not particularly informative. A classic example of info-tainment. Some of these shows are pretty cheap but at at least they are trying to meet the needs of their audience rather than win any of the traditional documentary awards for services to impentrability. You could do worse than tune in from time to time. Link: http://www.thehistorychannel.co.uk/index.htm ITN NEWS When Does It Broadcast? 24 hours a day What Does It Show? The News. Any Good? Erm, well it’s not bad, but pales in comparison to BBC News 24, CNN and even Sky News. Link: http://www.itn.co.uk/ ITV 1 When? 24 hours a day What Does It Show? Low brow, patronising and dull programming. Any Good? No. Is that all you have to say? Yes. Oh, come on? Fine. In detail then. I simply never watch anything ITV watch as it always fails to impress in the slightest. Their idea of high quality is an adaptation of a Catherine Cookson novel starring somebody who used to be in a soap, and the trash they trot out on a regular basis such as Wheel of Fortune, Emmerdale, Stars In Their Eyes, This Morning With Richard and Judy, and far too many various Micheal Barrymore projects which rate amongst some of the worst and most embarrassing tv ever made. Sitcom wise it’s terrible, utterly terrible and always has been, and the only time I ever find myself watching the channel is if some godawful reality tv show is so bad that it’s good. But what about Inspector Morse? Fair enough, but one programme a decade really isn’t good enough for one of the main terrestrial channels, is it? And don’t forget, ITV is also directly responsible for Robson and Jerome’s mainstream chart success. God, I’d never thought about it, but you’re right. It’s really fucking terrible, isn’t it? Yes. Thank you. Link: www.itv.co.uk ITV 2 When? Weekends 9am – 2am. Weekdays 4pm – 2.am What Does It Show? Repeats of your ‘favourite’ ITV programmes such as (shudder) Coronation Street, Soldier Soldier, and The Bill. Also a fair bit of football. Is It Any Good? Well, what do you think? I guess If you like a lot of ITV programmes, then you will like this. But personally I think it’s simply awful, just showing repeats of shows that I carefully avoided in the first place. Link: http://www.itv2.co.uk/itv2/flash.htm ITV SPORT When? Varies. 9am till around 1am at the weekends, and between 4pm and midnight weekdays. What Does It Show? Well, supposedly a wide range of sporting action, but mainly football and basketball. Any Good? As you may guess, it’ll depend on your tolerance for football and basketball. If you love both, you’ll probably not watch any other channel. If you don’t, you won’t. Production wise it’s all very smooth, but hardly a patch on Sky’s masterful presentation of sporting events. Link: http://www.itv-digital.co.uk/itvsportchannel/ KERRANG TV When? 24 hours a day. What does it show? Raaawwwwk, Nu-metal and punk music video’s. A sister channel to The Box, Q and Kiss, it’s another jukebox channel where can phone up and request a song (at 60p a go), to be shown on the channel. Any Good? Well, it does exactly what it sets out to do, though the majority of video’s are by very mainstream acts, and it would be nice if the channel tried to break a few acts from time to time. Still, a reasonably wide selection, and if the harder side of rock is your thing, it’ll satisfy at least some of the time. Though why Alannis Morrisette is on there is anyone’s guess. Link: http://www.kerrangtv.com/ KISS When? 24 hours a day What Does It Show? Like The Box and Q Music Channel, music videos that you choose by phoning a 60p per minute phone line. Specialises in Dance, R'n'B with a sprinkling of pop. Any Good? Again, depends on your music taste. But, yeah, rather fine all in all. Link: http://www.kiss100.com/ LIBERTY TV When? 6.30am – 12.30am What Does It Show? Rubbish. Any Good? No. It’s packed full of awful drama’s and mini-series, plus the odd lifestyle programme too. Not even worth occasionally flicking over too in the hope that something’s good on. The only time it may appeal is when they show a film, and even then these tend to be pretty substandard. Link: http://www.libertytv.tv/ LIVING When does it broadcast? 6:00am to midnight daily. What does it show? Talkshows, breezy magazine programming, TV movies - usually based on a true story. Goes "Adult" after 11:00 pm, and so has poached Channel 5's THE RED SHOE DIARIES. Is it any good? No, I don't think so, but there again, young unmarried men are hardly the target market. Living shows a constant stream of poor-quality imports and mixes these with even poorer quality home-grown pap. My girlfriend watches it from time to time, so may have some appeal to the more feminine half of the population. Sleaze-prone analogue digital viewers take note: 10 minutes of TELEVISION X: THE FANTASY CHANNEL follows this broadcast. Link: http://www.livingtv.co.uk/ Click here for Channels from M to Z. |
